Polar Bear Plunge : Police officers and citizens will take the plunge at the Pointe-Claire Marina

Show your bravery and take the plunge! On Saturday, March 17, police officers from the Law Enforcement Torch Run invite the population to participate to the Polar Bear Plunge. Many courageous men and women are expected with at the Pointe-Claire Marina to take the plunge to benefit Special Olympics Québec.

In addition of the 30 police officers already confirmed, Special Olympics athletes and volunteers will also take the plunge.

The activity kick off will be given at 1 p.m. Then, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. a succession of brave participants will plunge into the cold waters. A team of police divers, paramedics and volunteers will support the participants. Coffee and a warm changing area will be available. To plunge into the frozen waters, each participant needs to collect a minimum amount of $50 in donations.

It’s time to register! This activity is a great way to work on team building within your company. If you’re too chicken to take the plunge, you are welcome to donate. All donations will benefit the nearly 5,000 Québec  Special Olympics athletes.

Become a team captain and register your team online at https://secure.olympiquesspeciaux.qc.ca. If you are the only brave soul of your group of family and friends and would like to participate, you can register with the team “Les amis d’OSQ”. Donations to participants can also be made online.

This fundraising activity is organised by the Law Enforcement Torch Run in collaboration with the Montréal Police Department, the Sûreté du Québec, the CN Police and the Pointe-Claire Volunteer Rescue Unit.
