SPECIAL OLYMPICS FESTIVAL - A FABULOUS GATHERING UNDER THE BANNER OF SOCIAL INCLUSION

A major event will take place on Wednesday May 14, 2014, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Almost 600 guests are expected at the Special Olympics Festival, an annual fundraising event presided by honorary chair Ms. Diane Giard of National Bank, which brings together members of Montreal’s business community and professional and amateur sports celebrities. The goal of this fundraiser is to support the athletic development and social inclusion of some 5,550 athletes living with an intellectual disability (ID) in Québec.

Several of our special athletes will take part in the event, notably those who have triumphed at the 2013 Provincial Games in Pointe-Claire and those who will head to Vancouver this upcoming July to represent Québec at the next National Special Olympic Games.

The evening will begin with a silent auction, which will go on during the cocktail and gala dinner. The night will then end on a spectacular note with a live auction for ten unique lots, including 2 packages offering unlimited access to the entire C2MTL Experience, as well as a dedicated box at the Bell Centre to attend the boxing match between Adonis Stevenson and Andrzej Fonfara on May 24.

The Special Olympics Festival is Special Olympics Québec’s main fund-raising event. Since its inception in 1998, it has raised more than half a million dollars net each and every year.

The success of the Special Olympics Festival is possible thanks to the generosity of several corporate partners such as Hydro-Québec, FGL Sports, the Club de hockey Canadien and the SAQ.
