Nicole Beaulieu, Executive Director of SOQ, appointed Chairwoman of AFP-Quebec Chapter

On February 20, 2015, Special Olympics Québec Executive Director Ms. Nicole Beaulieu was appointed Chairwoman of the Quebec Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for an 18-month term. The AFP consists of professionals who work in not-for-profit organizations and seeks to support and promote philanthropic activities, with the goal of fostering an effective and ethical practice of philanthropy.

Nicole Beaulieu has been involved with the Association for many years. A member of its Board of Directors for 8 years, she has held the positions of Administrator and Chairwoman of the 2007 National Philanthropy Day Organizing Committee before becoming Treasurer, and has been Vice-Chair for the past two years. Her new term as Chairwoman represents a beautiful opportunity for Ms. Beaulieu, who is delighted to tackle this new challenge.

In addition to her involvement with the AFP, Ms. Beaulieu has worked in the field of philanthropy for nearly 20 years. She can count among her achievements a major fundraising campaign during which 5 million dollars were raised for a hospital. Since the early years of her career, she has facilitated the collection of just under 20 million dollars, primarily to fund the practice of sports by people living with disabilities and diseases.

Special Olympics Québec is very pleased to count Ms. Beaulieu among our team. We are extremely proud of our Executive Director's work and dedication in the community and wish her the best of luck for this new challenge and as she furthers her endeavour in the field of philanthropy.
